Labradorite is a variety of feldspar, named after the peninsula of Labrador in Canada, where it was discovered in 1770. It has since been found in other areas around the world. Although it has a dirty gray color in the rough, cut stones have a metallic luster & an iridescent sheen suggestive of the Northern Lights (Aurora Borealis). When seen at the right angle, various shades of vivid blue, green, gold, or purple "Flash" will appear. Labradorite is a protective crystal, keeping your aura strong & blocking negative energies.
